It was a night filled with emotion and empowerment as 30 Filipina cancer survivors from the group Filipina Cancer Warriors were treated to a special showing of La Perle by Dragone on Friday, June 13. The invitation-only evening was a tribute to their strength and resilience, made even more meaningful by the presence of Philippine Consul General Marford M. Angeles and Ms. Cyra Canto.
Hosted by La Perle’s General Manager Nicholas Hammond and his team, the event was designed not just as a performance but as a gesture of compassion. From dazzling acrobatics to immersive storytelling, the survivors were celebrated with warmth and admiration in a setting that blended world-class artistry with heartfelt hospitality.
Thelma, a member of Filipina Cancer Warriors, described the experience as transformative. “As a breast cancer survivor, the experience was deeply meaningful — not only because of the performance, but because of the warmth and generosity extended to us throughout the night,” she said. “Thank you for reminding us of the beauty in life, the strength in community, and the power of compassion.”
The evening was part of La Perle’s broader commitment to community outreach and cultural inclusion. In honor of the Philippine Independence Day celebrations across the UAE, La Perle is currently offering a special discounted rate of AED 99 for Filipino nationals who present a valid Philippine ID — a heartfelt nod to the strong and vibrant Filipino community in the Emirates.
