Fil-Am woman accidentally swallows diamond wedding ring during Thailand vacation

An Atlanta woman unintentionally swallowed her diamond wedding ring while on vacation in Thailand, mistaking it for vitamins. Dannah McMichael, 39, and her husband, Randy McMichael, were in Phuket when the incident occurred.

McMichael, a Filipina-American travel blogger, shared that she was exhausted after a long day of travel and was preparing to shower when she took off her wedding ring. While taking her daily vitamins, she accidentally swallowed the ring along with the pills.

“Without looking, I threw everything in my mouth and washed it down with water,” she explained in an SWNS report. Initially thinking she was choking on her magnesium pills, McMichael soon realized her ring was missing and suspected she had swallowed it.

After two days of searching the hotel room without success, the couple went to a local clinic for an X-ray. To their surprise, the scan revealed the ring in her stomach.

“We couldn’t believe it,” McMichael said, adding that it was the “funniest thing” that had ever happened to her. Her husband, initially concerned that the ring had been stolen, was relieved.

Doctors assured McMichael that she would pass the ring naturally, which she confirmed occurred a few days later without any pain.

After the ordeal, McMichael shared the experience on social media, posting a video of the X-ray and her ring soaking in disinfectant, humorously captioned, “Got my ring back. Wait, I never lost it. It was always with me.”
