Father takes revenge, kills alleged abuser of his child in Tondo

A 57-year-old man was shot dead by the father of a child he allegedly abused in Tondo, Manila. The incident occurred while the victim was doing his laundry outside his house.

In a report by John Consulta on “24 Oras” aired Wednesday, surveillance footage captured the suspect calmly walking away from the crime scene after shooting the victim twice in the back. According to Manila Police District (MPD) director P/Brigadier General Tom Ibay, “Binaril siya ng malapitan, habang siya ay nakatalikod, dalawang beses, kaagad niyang ikinamatay.”

The police arrested the suspect, a 42-year-old security guard, in a follow-up operation. Investigators revealed that the suspect allegedly took matters into his own hands after discovering that his 15-year-old child had been abused by the victim for a year. The abuse reportedly occurred whenever the child was asked to give the victim a massage.

When the suspect learned that he could not immediately have the victim arrested since the crime happened a year ago and legal charges needed to be filed, he chose to take violent action instead.

In an interview with GMA Integrated News, the suspect expressed no regret for his actions, stating, “Kasi sa tingin ko tama naman yun sa kanya yun. Hinalay kasi niya ang anak ko ng mahabang panahon. Masakit kasi syempre lolo siya tapos apo niya ang anak ko.”
