A 25-year-old man was killed by his father during a heated argument in Consolacion, Cebu, as reported on Friday, January 17, 2025, by Brigada News FM Legazpi City.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after sustaining multiple injuries inflicted by the suspect using a bolo.
The father surrendered voluntarily to the barangay authorities following the incident. Initial investigations revealed that the argument started after the father caught his son shouting at his younger siblings. The conflict escalated when the son expressed dissatisfaction with the food the father had brought home.
During the altercation, the father struck the victim first as he reportedly saw his son grabbing a metal pipe. The suspect also disclosed that his son was allegedly using illegal drugs and expressed deep remorse for what he had done.
Authorities are conducting further investigations into the case.
