A farmer was killed after being slashed by a neighbor in Malitbog, Bukidnon, reportedly due to frustration over repeated knocking late at night.
According to a GMA Regional TV report, the incident occurred in Sitio Minsayaw, Barangay Sta. Ines, where the suspect, irritated by the victim’s continuous knocking, attacked him with a sickle. Both individuals were reportedly intoxicated at the time, although they had not been drinking together.
Police Major Joann Navarro of the PRO-10 explained that the suspect acted out of irritation but did not harbor any prior conflict with the victim. The farmer was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The suspect is now in police custody, facing murder charges. According to authorities, the suspect claimed he was unaware of his actions due to intoxication.
