The family of Honey “Kristene” Talamera Bauden, a 37-year-old household worker in Jeddah, is demanding answers after her sudden death left them in shock and grief. Bauden was declared dead on August 15, 2025, with Saudi immigration authorities citing a “natural death” caused by a hemorrhagic stroke.
According to a report from Saksi Ngayon, Bauden’s relatives are unconvinced by the official explanation, pointing to troubling circumstances leading up to her passing. On August 5, she had a video call with her sister where she allegedly recounted being harassed by the driver of her employer’s brother, which later escalated into an argument. After that, her family lost contact with her between August 6 and 7—an unusual silence, since she normally communicated with them daily.
The death report claimed Bauden was hospitalized on August 8 following a “bathroom accident.” However, her relatives said they were never informed of her confinement, despite her passport carrying her next-of-kin’s contact details. They only learned of her death three days after it was declared on August 15.
The family insists the harassment she reported contradicts the explanation of a mere accident. They have formally appealed to the Philippine Embassy and Consulate in Jeddah, as well as the Department of Migrant Workers, to launch a thorough probe into her case. Their demands include a full investigation into the real cause of death, clarification on the delay in notification, the immediate release of a No Objection Certificate (NOC), and the official autopsy report.
