Sparkle GMA Artist Center has cautioned the public against individuals or groups allegedly soliciting money in connection with the passing of Emmanuelle “Emman” Atienza, stressing that her family has no involvement in such activities.
In a statement released on Saturday, Oct. 25, the agency relayed the official message of the Atienza family, clarifying that they are not linked to any fundraising efforts tied to Emman’s wake or death.
“The Atienza Family would like to clarify that they are not, in any way, associated with any activities, solicitations, or collections being conducted in relation to the wake or passing of their beloved Emman,” Sparkle wrote.
The agency also urged the public to give the family space to grieve.
“We kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy as they mourn and honor the memory of Emman during this difficult time. Thank you for your understanding and respect,” it added.
Emman’s death was confirmed on Friday, Oct. 24, by her parents—television host Kim Atienza and Chinese International School Manila founder Felicia Hung. The family has not disclosed the cause of her death.
Following the announcement, Kim drew attention online after responding to a netizen who cited a Bible verse while accusing him and his wife of being responsible for their daughter’s passing.
Emman, known for her openness about mental health struggles, had previously shared her experiences with bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) on social media.
