A family from General Santos City successfully saved P2.3 million in just one year, thanks to their participation in an ‘ipon challenge’. This challenge was part of their goal to purchase a family van.
As reported by GMA Integrated Newsfeed, the family opened six piggy banks this New Year, each filled with P1,000 bills. The money saved was the surplus from their earnings through various businesses inherited from their grandparents, which they have since nurtured and grown.
John Paul, the family member who shared their story, revealed that they were able to deposit between P10,000 to P20,000 daily in these piggy banks. The family has requested privacy regarding the specifics of their businesses.
The ‘ipon challenge’ was a strategy they employed to afford a new van for the family. The excess funds, beyond the cost of the van, will be reinvested into their businesses, continuing their legacy of prudent financial management.
