Kenyan authorities have apprehended Brian Mwenda, who had been deceitfully acting as a lawyer in the High Court of Kenya. Remarkably, Mwenda successfully argued and won 26 cases before various judges, including Magistrates, Court of Appeal Judges, and High Court judges.
Mwenda’s fraudulent activity came to a halt after the Rapid Action Team (RAT) in Kenya arrested him. The Law Society of Kenya’s Nairobi branch has subsequently issued a public warning about him.

Through a statement released on X, the Law Society of Kenya’s Nairobi branch cautioned: “It has been brought to the attention of the LSK Nairobi Branch through the Rapid Action Team (RAT), that the above-pictured person has been presenting and conducting himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch.”
Further clarifying Mwenda’s status, the statement added: “The Branch wishes to notify all members of the society, and of the public that BRIAN MWENDA NJAGI is not an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, from the Society’s records, neither is he a member of the Branch.”
The Law Society is urging members to come forward with any information regarding individuals impersonating advocates to ensure appropriate action is taken.
In a revelation by the Ghana Web, The Law Society of Kenya disclosed that Mwenda had manipulated their portal. He accessed and altered an account under a name resembling his, even going to the extent of replacing the profile photo with his own image. Investigations further concluded that Mwenda had stolen the identity of an actual lawyer, Brian Mwenda Ntwiga.
