A language training center in Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga has been closed after authorities found it was operating as an unlicensed recruitment agency and deceiving applicants with false promises of employment in South Korea.
The shutdown of Trabaho sa Korea Language Center (TSKLC) was carried out on March 12, 2026, by the Department of Migrant Workers together with the PNP-Mabalacat. DMW Assistant Secretary Jerome A. Alcantara and Migrant Workers Protection Bureau Director Romelson Abbang led the operation.
Investigators found that the center was misrepresenting the DMW’s government-to-government hiring programs to lure applicants, advertising housekeeping and caregiver positions in South Korea under a so-called “Work and Study Program” with monthly salaries ranging from P80,000 to P100,000. Applicants were charged fees of up to P150,000 — despite the center holding no license to recruit.
The DMW reiterated its standing advisory for the public to deal only with licensed recruitment agencies, avoid paying any unauthorized placement or processing fees, and report suspicious recruitment activity to the department.
