Factory fire in Ajman injures nine Pakistani workers

Nine Pakistani nationals sustained injuries in a factory fire incident in Ajman on Saturday, with authorities rushing them to various hospitals across the UAE. The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai revealed that the victims, hailing from Sindh and Punjab provinces, were admitted for treatment.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the unfortunate event took place late on February 24 at a facility handling sanitizers, perfumes, and related chemical products. According to the Pakistani mission, immediate medical assistance was provided to the injured, who were swiftly transported to different medical facilities.

Initial reports indicated that four of the injured were taken to Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in Ajman. Among them were Gul Dad, Nawab Nawaz, and Imam Bux Solangi from Nawabshah, Sindh, along with Mohammed Akram from Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab. Subsequently, Nawab Nawaz and Imam Bux were transferred to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, while Mohammed Akram was relocated to Khalifa Hospital in the same city.

Further casualties were identified as Mohammed Ijaz, admitted to Zayed Hospital in Sharjah, and Shahid Mumtaz, Zahoor Hayat, and Sikandar Abdul Rahim, receiving treatment at Kuwait Hospital and Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, respectively. All four individuals hailed from Shaheed Nawabshah, Sindh.

The Consulate General of Pakistan’s Welfare Wing is actively collaborating with local authorities, including Al Jurf Police Station in Ajman, to aid in the investigation and support the victims. Additionally, efforts are underway to assist Akbar Khan, another victim from Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab.

Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, extended prayers for the swift recovery of the injured, assuring full support to those affected by the incident. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General in Dubai, affirmed ongoing efforts to provide necessary assistance to the injured Pakistanis.

This incident marks the second fire-related tragedy involving Pakistani nationals in recent weeks. In January, Imran Khan and his daughter lost their lives in a fire in Sharjah’s Muweilah area, while his wife and two others were hospitalized.
