New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) is preparing for its busiest holiday travel season, expecting 2.296 million passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from December 20 to January 3—a 10.95% increase from last year.
To manage the surge, NNIC has coordinated with agencies like the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and other key stakeholders to enhance staffing, security, and terminal operations. Airlines are also set to open more check-in counters to minimize queuing times during peak hours.
Since assuming NAIA management three months ago, NNIC has rolled out improvements, including expanded curbside areas, a centralized transport hub at Terminal 3, upgraded air conditioning, faster Wi-Fi, and additional seating and trolleys. These upgrades aim to improve passenger comfort and efficiency during the holiday rush.
Adding to the festive spirit, NNIC launched the “Fly and Win” promo. Running from December 16, 2024, to January 15, 2025, passengers can win luxury cars—a 2024 BMW X5 for international travelers and a 2024 BMW 3 Series Sedan for domestic flyers. Participants earn entries by scanning QR codes at the airport, with winners announced on January 17, 2025.
NNIC President Ramon S. Ang encouraged travelers to arrive early and pack smartly, emphasizing efforts to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all. “This season is about connecting with loved ones, and we’re committed to making it as comfortable and festive as possible,” he said.
