Police in Quezon City are now examining two deaths inside the same condominium unit only days apart, after model Ivan Cezar Ronquillo was pronounced dead on Wednesday morning, Nov. 19.
Authorities said Ronquillo was discovered unresponsive in the unit where he had earlier found the lifeless body of his former partner, Vivamax actress and model Gina Lima. Responding officers immediately brought him to the Quezon City General Hospital, but medical staff were unable to revive him. According to Lt. Col. Jose Luis Aguirre, “Ronquillo was rushed to the Quezon City General Hospital, but doctors failed to revive him and declared him dead.”
The case has drawn attention because Ronquillo himself had taken Lima to the same hospital on Sunday night, Nov. 16, when he found her unconscious. She was declared dead on arrival, based on reports from TV Patrol.
Police investigators, including officers from the Scene of the Crime Operation, combed through Ronquillo’s condominium after both incidents. Their assessment showed no signs of a struggle. Early documentation listed Lima’s cause of death as cardio respiratory distress, though investigators noted bruising on her thighs that they described as inconclusive. Authorities said a full autopsy will determine the exact reason for her death.
Officials added that Lima and Ronquillo had already ended their relationship three years ago.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
