The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is poised to make history as it brings the first two games of its 2024 National Finals to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This groundbreaking move marks the first time a Philippine basketball league will stage its championship series outside of the Philippines, showcasing the league’s commitment to engaging the large Filipino community in the region and promoting the sport on an international level.
Schedule and venue
The much-anticipated games are set to take place at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall of Al Nasr Club in Dubai. Game 1 is scheduled for December 1, 2024, while Game 2 will follow on December 3, 2024. Both games will tip off at 7:00 PM Gulf Standard Time (11:00 PM Philippine Time), promising two evenings of thrilling basketball action.
