Etihad Airways sets sights on recruiting 1,000 cabin crew by end of 2024

Etihad Airways, the UAE’s flag carrier, has announced plans to recruit an additional 1,000 cabin crew members by the end of 2024. This announcement came on World Cabin Crew Day, highlighting the airline’s ongoing expansion.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline has already hired over 1,000 cabin crew members this year. To achieve the new recruitment target, Etihad will launch a global recruitment campaign.

Etihad’s cabin crew is notably diverse, comprising individuals from 112 nationalities, all based in Abu Dhabi. The airline provides its crew with a competitive salary package that includes fully furnished modern accommodation, medical insurance, and various allowances. Additionally, crew members have access to discounts on dining, shopping, leisure activities, and car hire.

The airline also emphasizes career growth, with 31% of cabin crew members receiving promotions in the past year. Some have moved into corporate roles in marketing, guest experience, network operations, aviation training, and finance.

Dr. Nadia Bastaki, Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer at Etihad, remarked, “This World Cabin Crew Day, we celebrate and recognize the contribution that our Cabin Crew make to our airline’s success. As Etihad continues to grow, we are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team who share our ambition to become the airline that everyone wants to fly.”

Etihad’s cabin crew operates flights to more than 70 destinations across Australia, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Prospective candidates can apply online or attend an Open Day. Shortlisted applicants will undergo in-person or virtual assessments. The airline’s virtual recruitment process offers flexibility in scheduling interviews. Prior experience is not required, as successful candidates will receive comprehensive training at Etihad Aviation Training’s Zayed Campus.
