Erwin Tulfo leads senatorial race, followed by brother Ben in new poll

Two brothers of Sen. Raffy Tulfo have emerged as the top picks for senator in a recent voter preference survey conducted by polling firm Tangere.

The survey, held from November 6 to 9, revealed that 64.83% of respondents favored ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo, making him the most preferred candidate if elections were held during the survey period. His brother, media personality Ben Tulfo, followed with 52.25% support.

Erwin’s strong showing was consistent across regions and socio-economic groups, while Ben gained significant backing in Visayas, Mindanao, and Central and Northern Luzon. However, both saw a notable dip in support among voters aged 50 and older.

Tied for third and fourth places were Sen. Bong Go (50.13%) and former Senate President Vicente Sotto III (49.71%). Go’s rating was bolstered by respondents from Mindanao and voters aged 36 to 50, while Sotto drew most of his support from Central and Northern Luzon but lagged among younger voters aged 18 to 25.

Other notable candidates included former senators Manny Pacquiao (41.5%) and Panfilo Lacson (41%), Sen. Pia Cayetano (40.46%), Makati Mayor Abby Binay (37%), and former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos (33.96%), each backed by distinct voter demographics.

Rounding out the so-called “Magic 12” were reelectionist Senators Lito Lapid (31.92%), Bong Revilla (31.17%), Francis Tolentino (31.04%), and Ronald dela Rosa (30.83%), along with former senator Bam Aquino (30.50%), Sen. Imee Marcos (30.42%), former senator Francis Pangilinan (30.33%), social media personality Willie Ong (30.25%), and television host Willie Revillame (30.08%).
