Erwin Tulfo leads Pulse Asia’s latest senatorial survey; majority of top contenders from admin slate

ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo is leading the race in Pulse Asia’s latest senatorial survey for the upcoming midterm elections in May 2025, with nine other candidates from the Marcos administration’s “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” also emerging as “probable winners.”

Pulse Asia President Ronald Holmes announced the survey results on Monday, highlighting Tulfo’s commanding lead in voter preference. According to the survey, 62.8% of respondents favored the lawmaker, securing him the top spot.

Following Tulfo in the rankings are Senator Bong Go (50.4%), former Senate President Tito Sotto (50.2%), former Interior Secretary Ben Tulfo (46.2%), Senator Pia Cayetano (46.1%), Senator Bong Revilla (46%), Senator Imee Marcos (43.3%), former Senator Ping Lacson (42.4%), TV host Willie Revillame (41.9%), and Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa (41.2%). Also making it to the list of probable winners are Makati Mayor Abby Binay (41.1%), boxing legend Manny Pacquiao (40.6%), Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar (38.4%), and actor-politician Lito Lapid (37.7%).

Among the top contenders, only Go, Revillame, Marcos, and dela Rosa are not part of the administration slate. Senator Marcos was initially included but was later withdrawn from the administration’s official list of candidates.

Meanwhile, former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos and Senator Francis Tolentino, who are both running under the administration’s ticket, failed to make it into the winning circle. Abalos ranked 16-18 with 24.8% voter preference, while Tolentino placed 19-21 with 19.3%.

The Pulse Asia survey was conducted from January 18 to 25, 2025, through face-to-face interviews with 2,400 respondents nationwide. The survey results have a ±2% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.
