A drunken employee lost his life after an altercation with a coworker in Kananga, Leyte, on December 22, News5 reported.
The victim, who had just attended a Christmas party, stopped by a gymnasium to fetch a coworker who was sleeping at the time. Upon waking the coworker, an exchange of words ensued, leading the victim to punch the suspect.
In retaliation, the suspect struck back, hitting the victim in the jaw. The victim fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital but was later declared dead.
Authorities ruled out any motive, stating that the incident stemmed purely from the retaliation. The suspect now faces homicide charges.
