Emirates welcomes 101-year-old traveler with first-class upgrade

Emirates recently welcomed 101-year-old Rachida Smati, a seasoned traveler, onboard its flight to Algiers this past weekend. To honor their well-traveled customer, the airline extended a First-Class upgrade to ensure her comfort. Rachida was greeted by a dedicated team and fast-tracked through the airport, allowing her to relax in the First-Class lounge before boarding.

An Algerian national, Rachida visited Algiers after spending time with friends and family in Dubai, marking her third visit to the city. She expressed her admiration for Dubai’s accessibility, high standards of medical care, and vibrant attractions, and plans to continue choosing Emirates for her travels.

Rachida praised the Emirates team for facilitating a smooth travel experience, stating, “I had a great experience on my Emirates flight to Dubai. The cabin crew were very kind and helpful. I’m looking forward to flying back to Algiers aboard Emirates and experiencing First Class. I’m ever so grateful for the warm welcome by all of the teams.”

Born in Algeria in 1923, Rachida took her first flight to Paris at the age of 21. She remains an avid traveler, preferring Emirates for its exceptional onboard experience and commitment to customer comfort both on the ground and in the air.
