Emirates has resumed its daily flights to Edinburgh, marking the first Boeing 777 landing in the Scottish capital since the suspension of services in 2020. This addition provides Scottish travelers with 14 weekly flights, including the airline’s existing daily A380 service to Glasgow.
Flights from Dubai to Edinburgh will depart at 2:50 p.m. UAE time, arriving in Scotland at 7:05 p.m., with the return flight leaving Edinburgh at 8:40 p.m. and reaching Dubai at 8:05 a.m. the following day. Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, emphasized the new service will offer passengers greater access to long-haul destinations such as Thailand, Australia, and Dubai.
The airline noted that it will play a key role in boosting Scottish tourism, with recent data from Visit Scotland showing a significant rise in international visitors in 2023. The additional service will also support Emirates SkyCargo, which will transport up to 16 tonnes of cargo per flight to bolster trade and support local businesses.
Emirates now serves eight destinations across the UK with a combined 133 flights weekly, utilizing a mix of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft.
