Jeanette Obiena, mother of Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena, recently shared insights on her son’s mindset following his strong performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he finished fourth in the pole vault finals.
In an interview on “Sa Totoo Lang,” a program on One PH’s YouTube channel, Jeanette described EJ as someone who never leaves tasks unfinished. “He’s the person who doesn’t want a ‘what if?’ He wants to see na ito ‘yong gagawin ko. Ayaw n’yo no’ng may nakabitin,” she said, emphasizing his determination.
She also expressed her family’s unwavering support for whatever EJ chooses to pursue next. “To keep him the body healthy. And go for the happiness he wants. We’re all here,” she added.
EJ’s journey doesn’t seem to be slowing down, and his family is fully behind him in achieving new heights.
