Vice President Sara Duterte has expressed frustration over being sidelined in major national decisions, saying the Marcos administration should not see her as a rival.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday in Tacurong City, Duterte stressed that her exclusion from shaping policies is a loss for the country. She made clear she has no ambition to challenge President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his position.
“Wala silang dapat ika-insecure sa akin, pero hindi ko alam kung ano ang iniisip nila. Bakit ka mai-insecure? Eh tumakbo na nga ng vice president. Ikaw na nga ‘yung pangulo,” she said, underscoring that she is not aiming for the presidency.
The Vice President has been increasingly vocal in recent weeks, particularly as tensions rise over corruption investigations tied to the flood control controversy. Duterte earlier pressed the Palace to widen its probe beyond infrastructure projects and scrutinize other budget allocations.
