Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is embracing the spirit of Ramadan with a series of initiatives aimed at fostering community engagement and humanitarian efforts. Dubbed ‘Journey of Good’, these initiatives are a collaborative effort involving RTA volunteers and Keolis, Dubai Metro, and Tram’s Operator.
Under the ‘Journey of Good’ banner, a range of activities and events will be rolled out, targeting a diverse community including RTA employees, bus and delivery bikers, truck drivers, workers, and Abra riders.
External initiatives include ‘Modes of Good’, an extension of RTA’s Meals On Wheels program, which sees 8,000 meals prepared and distributed during Ramadan. These meals are provided to various segments of the community, including bus drivers, delivery bike riders, truck drivers, and Abra riders, with special visits to worker accommodations.
Additionally, the RTA is collaborating with charitable societies for the Ramadan Tent Project, aiming to provide 2,000 Iftar meals to fasting individuals. Another initiative, ‘We Bring You Closer’, involves setting up telephone booths at key metro stations to facilitate connections with loved ones.
Internally, RTA employees are also involved in initiatives such as workshops on healthy fasting habits and balanced diets, as well as fun activities like the ‘Who Will Win the Fanoos?’ competition, offering vouchers to winners.
