Plate number AA16 was sold for a staggering Dh7.32 million at the 115th open auction of premium vehicle number plates in Dubai, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The auction, held at Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, saw a total of Dh65.588 million raised from the sale of 90 number plates. This marks a 28 percent increase in revenue compared to the previous auction’s total of Dh51.216 million.
Other notable sales included plate AA69, which fetched Dh6 million, and plate AA999, which brought in Dh4.05 million.
The auction featured a variety of fancy plates, spanning two to five digits across multiple series including AA, I, J, L, and more, Khaleej Times reported.
