Beond, a luxury airline startup headquartered in Dubai, declared the start of its commercial operations on Wednesday. The airline’s maiden flights are set to commence next month.
Unveiling its first Airbus A319 at Al Maktoum International airport, Beond revealed a luxurious interior designed to seat 44 passengers in an all lay-flat configuration. The airline’s initial flights are planned for Riyadh, Munich, and Zurich from November 9 to 17, exclusively offering business-class services.
The company also disclosed new routes, connecting Dubai and Milan, set to begin in late March 2024.
Within the upcoming five years, Beond has set an ambitious goal to operate 32 aircraft and cover 60 destinations. The airline is looking to transport passengers from Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region to destinations such as the Maldives using a fleet of Airbus A320-family aircraft. Beond’s first aircraft will also be featured at the Dubai Air Show in mid-November. More Airbus planes are set to be incorporated into the fleet by the end of 2023 and early 2024.
One-way tickets will start from 1,500 euros (Dh6,000), with prices varying based on the departure city.
Tero Taskila, Beond’s founder and CEO, expressed the company’s vision, saying, “Our aim is simple: to fly our customers to the most unique and unspoiled destinations where they can embark on the most unforgettable journey of their lives.”
Sascha Feuerherd, Beond’s chief commercial officer, spoke of the overwhelming positive feedback, stating, “The response in our launch cities has been excellent. Interest has expanded to new origins on our route map, and I eagerly await our first passengers.”
