Dubai’s Madame Tussauds welcomes Marilyn Monroe wax figure in time for Valentine’s Day

Madame Tussauds Dubai is set to add another global celebrity to its wax figure collection this February, as the iconic Marilyn Monroe joins the ranks of glamorous stars on display at the Bluewaters location. Just in time for the month of love and Valentine’s Day, the unveiling of Marilyn Monroe’s wax figure promises to be a treat for visitors and tourists.

Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, was an American actress, model, and singer who became renowned for her portrayal of comic ‘blonde bombshell’ characters. Rising to fame in the 1950s, she quickly became one of the most popular actresses of her time, with her signature glamorous style. Her films grossed an impressive $200 million by 1962, solidifying her status as a major pop culture icon, a legacy that continues to endure over half a century later.

Marilyn Monroe’s wax figure will be styled in her famous shimmering red sequin dress from the 1953 film ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.’ Her signature look of blonde curled hair, red lips, and full lashes will be faithfully recreated. She will join other iconic figures in the Film Zone, one of the six themed areas at Madame Tussauds Dubai, alongside stars like Audrey Hepburn, Jennifer Lawrence, and Tom Cruise.

To celebrate the addition of Marilyn Monroe’s figure during the month of February, visitors (groups of up to four adults) can enjoy a special 20 percent discount by mentioning “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” at the entrance. Additionally, guests can have the opportunity to cast their own hand in wax for just AED25, down from AED40.

Whether it’s a Galentine’s Day outing with friends or an alternative Valentine’s Day celebration with a loved one, Madame Tussauds Dubai offers a unique and memorable experience. Visitors can pose with Marilyn Monroe’s lifelike figure, explore interactive exhibits, and marvel at the fantastic selection of wax figures on display.

Sanaz Kollsrud, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Dubai, expressed excitement about celebrating the “Month of Love” with Marilyn Monroe’s addition, bringing vintage Hollywood style and glamour to the vibrant Film Zone.
