Dubai’s latest road enhancements cut travel time in Oud Metha by 40%

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed key upgrades in Oud Metha under its 2024 Quick Traffic Solutions Plan, aiming to reduce travel time in the area by 40%.

The enhancements include new deceleration and acceleration lanes, measuring 317 meters, which have been added to entry and exit points from Umm Hurair Street to Oud Metha. Additionally, the RTA expanded the service road exit on Umm Hurair Street from two to three lanes, effectively increasing road capacity by 50%.

Hamad Al Shehhi, Director of Roads at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, highlighted that these improvements are tailored to support Dubai’s growing population and business needs. The upgrades not only facilitate smoother traffic flow but also improve safety across Oud Metha’s diverse residential, commercial, and cultural zones.
