In anticipation of the New Year long weekend, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced significant changes to its intercity bus services to better manage the expected surge in traffic.
The New Year’s holiday on Monday, January 1, which has been declared a public holiday by the UAE government, will see altered bus routes starting from Friday, December 29, through to Monday, January 1, 2024.
Key changes include the relocation of Route E100, which will now operate from Ibn Battuta Bus Station instead of Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, heading towards Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Route E102 will be adjusted to depart from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Al-Mussafah Shabia Station.
Moreover, the RTA announced that several bus services will be temporarily suspended on New Year’s Eve to accommodate the special holiday traffic patterns. A total of 25 routes will be affected, with suspensions starting from 3.30 pm on Sunday, December 31, and continuing until 6 am the following day, January 1.
Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated with the latest route information available on the RTA’s official channels.
