Dubai has set a new record in holiday tourism. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) reported that from December 27, 2023, to January 1, 2024, more than 1.2 million passengers traveled through Dubai’s various ports.
This surge peaked on December 30, 2023, with a single-day record of 224,380 passengers, highlighting Dubai’s popularity as an international holiday destination. The majority of these travelers, approximately 1.14 million, arrived and departed through the city’s airports. Land and sea ports also saw significant activity, with 76,376 and 27,108 travelers respectively.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA, expressed pride in Dubai’s global appeal and its ability to consistently provide exceptional experiences for visitors. This influx of travelers not only celebrates Dubai’s allure but also cements its status as a leading global hub for tourism and hospitality.
