Dubai: Up to 10 years in jail for visa and residence permit forgery

Dubai’s Public Prosecution has issued a warning through social media about the grave repercussions of forging visas, residence permits, or any other related official documents.

Anyone caught forging or using such documents with the knowledge that they are forged may face a jail sentence of up to 10 years.

This stern reminder comes in the wake of last year’s report where more than 10,500 individuals faced legal actions as illegal residents in the UAE. The 10,576 cases include a range of immigration violations such as absconding, illegal entry, forgery of residence permits or visas, unauthorized employment, expired residence visas, and working while on visit visas, among others.

The authority emphasizes the importance of adhering to the country’s visa and residence permit regulations to maintain security and order.
