The premier community meet-up event in the UAE, Sandbox SWAPMEET, is gearing up to bring pop culture enthusiasts a spectacular two-day event. For the first time, the gathering will span over December 2nd and 3rd, 2023, at the Dubai International Academy in Al Barsha 1, with free admission for all attendees.
This year’s event, Volume 4 of the series, is set to coincide with the UAE’s 52nd National Day Celebrations and will be a hub for aficionados across various collectible domains. Attendees can look forward to an exciting lineup of participants including Action Figure, Funko, and Designer Toy collectors; Trading Card Gamers with interests in NBA Basketball, Pokémon, Yugi-OH, Magic The Gathering; Anime and Manga collectors; Adult Fans of Lego (AFOL); Die Cast Cars collectors; Comic Creators and Artists. In an exciting development, this edition will welcome new additions such as traditional Board Gamers and Chess Players.
The SWAPMEET will not only be a collectors’ paradise but also a competitive arena with several activations such as the Hot Wheels Gravity Race Competition, a Magic: The Gathering Card Game Tournament, Retro Games, a Warhammer Tournament, and a cosplay competition by Cosplay AE. Aligning with the National Day spirit, a toy photography competition themed around the UAE’s National Day will be hosted by the Depth of Field (DOF) Photography Group.
Volume 4 is supported by key players in the gaming and comic book community, including Back To Games, Runic Vault, Otaku ME, Camel Comics, and Comicave UAE, with partnership from Zbooni and Tap Tap Send.
