Dubai to distribute free Iftar meals to drivers, labourers, and low-income groups this Ramadan

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a Ramadan initiative that will provide free Iftar meals to bus drivers, delivery riders, truck drivers, labourers, and low-income residents across key locations in the city.

As part of a wider program featuring 20 community events and charitable activities, RTA will distribute thousands of meals at metro stations, marine transport hubs, and its headquarters. Highlights include the ‘Iftar Saem’ project, in partnership with Beit Al Khair Society, and the ‘Meals on Wheels’ program, which will begin during the second week of Ramadan to serve workers in labour accommodations and abra commuters.

In addition to 5,000 meals at metro stations, labourers will also receive symbolic gifts from dedicated kiosks.

“These initiatives reflect RTA’s values of tolerance and collaboration while supporting the UAE’s 2025 ‘Year of Community’ vision,” said Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA.

The authority will also mark Zayed Humanitarian Workday with the distribution of Ramadan Rations through Nol cards to provide essential groceries to low-income families.

RTA employees are also set to benefit from 15 Ramadan activities, including group Iftars for engineers and field staff, gatherings at Winter Camp, and assistance for low-income staff through meal vouchers and rations.
