Dubai is set to make history with the construction of the Middle East and South Asia’s first professional baseball stadium, announced by Baseball United, the region’s pioneering professional baseball league. This groundbreaking ballpark will be located at The Sevens sports and entertainment complex on Al-Ain Road, a short distance from downtown Dubai.
According to a Khaleej Times report, this new facility, tentatively named Baseball United Ballpark, will feature cutting-edge amenities designed to handle Dubai’s climate, including a high-performance synthetic turf and an advanced LED lighting system. The ballpark’s seating will accommodate up to 6,500 fans with options ranging from luxury Diamond Club seats to cost-effective Outfield Boxes.
Baseball United aims to create a home for the sport with a venue that blends modern technology with the rich traditions of baseball. The ballpark will include above-ground dugouts, classic foul lines, and a scoreboard inspired by early American baseball parks. Its field dimensions are designed after the famed Yankee Stadium, offering a familiar feel to fans of the sport.
Barry Larkin, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and Co-Founder of Baseball United, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, calling it a significant step in bringing professional baseball to a new audience. “This ballpark will be a landmark not just for Dubai, but for the entire region,” he stated.
Set amidst The Sevens’ cricket ovals, this new ballpark will create the first joint bat-and-ball sports complex in the region, enhancing Dubai’s position as a global sports hub. The stadium is expected to become a key attraction, further establishing The Sevens as the premier destination for sports enthusiasts in the Middle East.
