A student from Dubai Secondary School was given special recognition by Al Qusais Police Station after he returned a wallet containing cash and a cheque worth AED 200,000 to its rightful owner.
In a surprise ceremony held in front of his classmates, Essa Abbas Muhammad Abdullah was praised for his honesty and integrity. Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Al Hashemi, Deputy Director of Al Qusais Police Station, personally presented the award, alongside Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Abdulaziz Al Khaja, Head of the Administrative Affairs Section.
Lt. Col. Al Hashemi said the recognition was part of the “We Reach You to Thank You” initiative, which aims to honor individuals directly within their communities and workplaces. He commended the student’s quick action to alert authorities and ensure the money was safely returned, stressing that such behavior reflects true civic responsibility.
The student expressed his appreciation to Dubai Police, saying the recognition brought pride and joy, especially as he was able to share the moment with his fellow students.
