On December 1, 2024, the Emirates Golf Club will host the second Dubai auction of the world’s rarest cars. This event follows a highly successful auction held earlier this year and will be in collaboration with the prestigious 1000 Miglia Experience UAE.
According to a Khaleej Times report, RM Sotheby’s, the global car auction company, will reveal details of early consignments in the coming weeks. Their previous auction in March 2024 saw sales totaling $17 million (Dh 62.4 million), including a record-breaking $3.38 million (Dh 12.4046 million) sale of a 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR.
The March auction featured a collection of the world’s rarest supercars, such as a pre-World War II 1935 Bugatti and a 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie. Currently, RM Sotheby’s website lists notable models like the 2000 BMW Z8, the 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, the 2016 McLaren 675 LT Spider, and the 2009 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640-4 Roadster. More early consignments will be announced soon for the December event.
Peter Wallman, chairman for UK and EMEA at RM Sotheby’s, emphasized the importance of the Middle Eastern market and expressed excitement about the new venue and partnership with the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE. Martin Halder, founder of Octanium Group, highlighted the significant milestone this partnership represents in fostering the automotive enthusiast scene in the Middle East.
December is shaping up to be the region’s ‘automotive season,’ featuring events like the 1000 Miglia Experience, RM Sotheby’s auction, Cavallino Middle East, and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
