Dubai has been named among the top 10 cities globally for livability, lovability, and prosperity, as revealed by the World’s Best Cities Report by Resonance. The bustling Emirate surpassed renowned cities such as San Francisco, Amsterdam, and Sydney.
The top three cities in the list were London, Paris, and New York, with Dubai taking the sixth spot, outshining even Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Seoul.
Key parameters contributing to the rankings included the city’s walkability, iconic sights, recreational facilities, airport connectivity, cultural hubs like museums, nightlife, shopping scenes, and economic metrics like the presence of Fortune 500 companies and startup count.
The report highlighted Dubai’s penchant for setting world records, such as constructing the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It also applauded the city’s variety of attractions, including expansive malls, indoor ski parks, and theme parks that celebrate Hollywood, Bollywood, Marvel, and Lego.
In the Middle East, Abu Dhabi stood out, ranking 25th worldwide, with Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait, and Muscat also making the list.
Chris Fair, the president and CEO of Resonance Consultancy, commented on the evolving perception of urban spaces post-pandemic, saying, “As cities transition from the pandemic era, their visions are reshaped by the experiences and lessons from lockdowns. Both current and future urban dwellers are reevaluating what they find appealing in a city.”
