In anticipation of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holidays, Dubai Police announced plans to bolster security measures with the deployment of more than 400 patrol cars across the city. Maj Gen Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, assistant commander-in-chief for operations affairs, affirmed on Friday that all necessary preparations have been finalized for ensuring public safety during the festive period.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the comprehensive plan includes the deployment of 429 security patrol vehicles, 62 civil defence vehicles, 34 marine security boats, 135 ambulances, 10 maritime rescue boats, 51 bicycle patrols, five responder vehicles, and two helicopters. This strategic allocation aims to enhance surveillance and emergency response capabilities throughout the holiday period.
Collaborating closely with the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Police will also ensure the availability of public transport options. The plan encompasses 107 trains for Dubai Metro and Tram, 1,150 public transport buses, 12,632 taxi vehicles, 13,912 limousines, and 57 marine transport vehicles to facilitate smooth travel for residents and tourists.
Emphasizing the importance of road safety, Dubai Police urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations and speed limits to prevent accidents. Seven control centers will monitor traffic flow across the city, focusing on key areas such as mosques, prayer halls, commercial centers, open markets, and tourist destinations.
With numerous individuals expected to visit beaches and pool areas during the holidays, Dubai Police advised parents and guardians to exercise caution and keep a close eye on their children. Al Ghaithi, also the chairman of the Events Security Committee, underscored the prohibition of fireworks and reminded the public of strict regulations governing their use in the UAE.
