Dubai Police has honored a 63-year-old Emirati sailor, Issa Muhammad Al Falasi, for his bravery and swift action in rescuing eight fishermen and retrieving two bodies after a tragic incident at sea. The recognition ceremony was conducted under the guidance of Dubai Police’s high-ranking officials.
Issa Muhammad Al Falasi was on a routine fishing trip when he noticed a distressing scene – a boat had overturned, throwing its occupants into the sea. Acting without hesitation, Al Falasi navigated his boat towards the struggling individuals. He first rescued a man battling against the waves and then discovered that nine others were in peril.
Despite the challenging conditions, Al Falasi managed to save eight fishermen – six Indians and two Pakistanis. Sadly, two individuals could not be saved in time, but Al Falasi ensured their bodies were respectfully retrieved.
Major General Ahmed Mohammed Rafie, representing Dubai Police, praised Al Falasi for his courageous actions, noting that they reflect the spirit of community and compassion inherent in Emirati citizens.
