Dubai Police now allows travel bans to be lifted online within seconds

People flagged with travel bans linked to rental-related financial cases can now clear those restrictions almost immediately, following the full online rollout of Dubai Police’s “Inquiry About Circulars and Travel Bans” service, according to a report by Gulf News.

Under the upgraded system, individuals can log in securely using UAE Pass, view any registered circulars, see which authority issued them, and settle outstanding amounts digitally. Once payment is completed, the travel ban is removed automatically within seconds, without the need for in-person visits.

Dubai Police announced the update during a press briefing on Tuesday, noting that the service is accessible both inside and outside the UAE. The change replaces a process that previously involved formal applications and manual reviews by multiple authorities.

The digital service currently applies to cases issued by the Rental Dispute Settlement Centre, allowing users with rental-related claims to complete the entire settlement process online. Authorities said work is ongoing to expand the system to include circulars and travel bans issued by Dubai Courts and the Public Prosecution in later phases.

As part of the same announcement, Dubai Police unveiled the second generation of its official website and smart application, alongside a new Lawyers Platform offering seven dedicated legal services. The developments are positioned as part of the government’s zero-bureaucracy drive to simplify procedures and speed up case handling.

Dubai Police officials said the revamped digital platforms are designed to support quicker access to security, traffic, community, and criminal services, while improving operational efficiency. Artificial intelligence has been embedded across the systems, enabling multilingual access and broader automation within approved legal and technical frameworks.

The Lawyers Platform allows legal professionals to submit requests, upload documents, and monitor cases online at any time, reducing the need for physical visits to police stations. The system also provides a unified dashboard across web and mobile platforms, with real-time tracking of applications, circulars, and travel bans, supported by automated notifications.

Additional features include secure digital workspaces for lawyers, electronic management of powers of attorney, and an integrated case management system with defined timelines. An AI-powered digital assistant is also available to guide users through services and procedures.

The platform currently supports services such as linking and electronically signing powers of attorney, filing criminal complaints after identity verification, requesting Good Conduct Search Certificates related to lifting circulars, applying for official certificates tied to cases, securing permits for virtual detainee visits, and inquiring about circulars and travel bans with direct online payment and closure.
