Dubai Police have taken strict action against road misbehavior, impounding five vehicles involved in illegal driving stunts and causing disturbance in residential areas. The incident, occurring after midnight last Wednesday, involved young motorists in the Nad Al Sheba and Al Meydan Street areas.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, confirmed the apprehension of these vehicles. The drivers were reportedly causing significant chaos and noise, endangering both residents’ peace and the safety of other road users.
Al Mazrouei emphasized the importance of safe driving and urged young drivers to refrain from engaging in activities that violate traffic laws. He also called upon parents to monitor their young family members’ driving habits more closely.
The official warned that such severe traffic offences would lead to vehicle impoundment and hefty fines, potentially reaching up to 50,000 dirhams. The duration of impoundment varies based on the nature of the violation, in accordance with federal traffic laws.
Reiterating the Dubai Police’s commitment to road safety, Al Mazrouei cautioned against chaotic and disruptive driving behaviors. He stated that such actions are punishable by law, including imprisonment, vehicle impoundment, and other legal consequences.
Lastly, Al Mazrouei encouraged the community to report any traffic violations or dangerous driving behaviors through the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police app or by calling the “We Are All Police” service at 901. He wished all road users safety and security, highlighting the police’s determination to deter dangerous driving practices.
