Dubai Police has recently announced a significant enhancement in their traffic management capabilities. Their state-of-the-art smart traffic systems are now able to effectively monitor and identify vehicles making turns from non-designated areas, a violation under the current traffic regulations.
In an effort to enforce traffic laws and ensure road safety, Dubai Police stated that drivers caught making such illegal turns will face a fine of Dh500 and accrue four black points on their driver’s licence. To further educate the public and discourage this infraction, a video was shared by the police showing motorists committing these offenses.
Highlighting the seriousness of this issue, the police reported that in the last 10 months alone, there have been 29,463 instances of drivers turning from non-designated areas. These unlawful actions have led to injuries of six individuals, emphasizing the potential risks associated with such traffic offenses.
Dubai Police urges all motorists to strictly follow traffic laws and regulations. This adherence is crucial not just for the safety of the drivers themselves, but also for the well-being of other road users.
