Dubai Police have significantly upgraded their luxury car fleet with the addition of 100 Audi RS e-tron GTs, a move aimed at “enhancing the security and traffic operations in the city,” according to Maj Gen Abdullah Al Ghaithi, assistant commander-in-chief for operations affairs at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club.
The elite fleet of fully electric vehicles, sporting a battery capacity of 93.4 kWh and leveraging 800 V technology for rapid charging, promises to “serve traffic movement and safety on major roads.”
This initiative reflects a deliberate strategy to enhance operational efficiency while embracing sustainable technology, offering a range of up to 488 kilometres on a single charge.
“The cars have the latest technologies and high level of performance,” Maj Gen Al Ghaithi highlighted during the unveiling event at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club, emphasizing the force’s commitment to utilizing modern technology in ensuring road safety.
The sleek vehicles, bearing the distinctive green and white colours of the force, were procured from Al Nabooda Automobiles, the collaborator in this ambitious project.
K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles, expressed pride in this collaborative endeavor, stating, “We are proud to be supporting the efforts of Dubai Police by supplying a range of 100 Audi cars, including all-electric vehicles and the latest Audi models.”
This acquisition comes three months after the prototype vehicle’s showcase at the Arabian Travel Market conference in May, offering a glimpse into the force’s future — a fusion of luxury and high-tech functionality.
