Dubai Police have set a new benchmark by achieving an average emergency response time of just 2 minutes and 24 seconds during the third quarter of the year.
The commendable figure was highlighted by Major General Pilot Ahmad Muhammad bin Thani, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Ports Affairs at Dubai Police. He praised the dedication and professionalism of officers, non-commissioned officers, and individuals in the Command and Control Centre and Patrols Division for their pivotal role in maintaining the city’s security and reaching this impressive milestone.
Furthermore, the control centre reported receiving a whopping 2,237,016 calls on the emergency number 999 throughout the quarter. Impressively, 98.4% of these calls were addressed within a mere 10 seconds.
The data was reviewed during a regular performance evaluation meeting for the General Department of Operations. Such reviews are an essential component of Dubai Police’s strategy to assess and enhance the performance of its departments every quarter.
The evaluation was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Major Generals Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi and Dr Mohammed Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razouki, Brigadiers Turki bin Fares and Khaled Saeed bin Sulaiman, and Colonel Engineer Abdullah Al-Mulla, among others.
Key points on the meeting’s agenda encompassed discussions on the quarter’s performance, recommendations from the previous quarter’s review, and a performance comparison with the same period the previous year.
