Dubai has announced an open call for Emirati and UAE-based artists, designers, and architects to submit proposals for innovative art installations. These installations, according to Khaleej Times report, will be featured in the city’s major roundabouts, showcasing the blend of local art with Dubai’s urban and natural landscapes.
This initiative is a collaboration between Dubai Culture, Dubai Municipality, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). It aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city while integrating local cultural elements.
Applications for this project are open from June 11 to July 11. A panel of experts will review the submissions and select the best proposals, awarding cash prizes to cover design, materials, manufacturing, and installation costs.
To participate, artists must submit ideas that reflect innovation, cultural diversity, and sustainability. The artworks should be made from durable materials that can withstand environmental challenges and not disrupt traffic flow. Proposals must include detailed plans ensuring public safety and must be original works that have not been previously exhibited.
This initiative is part of Dubai’s broader effort to transform its streets and public spaces into cultural and touristic attractions, aligning with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan aimed at improving residents’ quality of life through people-centric development.
Interested artists can find more information and application details on the Dubai Culture website.
