Dubai Metro will start running earlier than usual at 5am instead of 8am on Sunday, January 12, to support the smooth transportation of participants and spectators for the 24th Dubai Marathon, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Thursday.
The marathon, organized under the Dubai Sports Council, will kick off at 6am, with thousands of runners expected to participate in three categories: a 4km fun run, a 10km race, and the full 42km marathon. The event will start and finish along Umm Suqeim Road, near Madinat Jumeirah.
This year’s edition will feature former World Marathon champion Lelisa Desisa.
