The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a special treat for Metro passengers to beat the summer heat, distributing free ice cream at various stations. The giveaway will occur today and tomorrow, July 10 and 11, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Mashreq and Ibn Battuta Metro Stations, with additional locations at Equiti and Onpassive Metro Stations starting at 11 am.
Commuters can enjoy a range of flavors including chocolate, cookies and cream, butterscotch, cotton candy, and vanilla. This initiative comes as temperatures in the Emirates soared to 50.8 degrees Celsius, setting a new record for the year.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to provide relief from the heat, with volunteers also distributing popsicles and cold drinks daily to workers and delivery riders.
