Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a new direct metro route linking Centrepoint Station and Al Fardan Exchange Station, giving commuters another option during peak hours and easing congestion on the busy Red Line.
The service, which began in August 2024, is the third direct route on the Red Line, alongside Centrepoint–Expo City Dubai and Centrepoint–Life Pharmacy Station. With this addition, passengers now have more travel choices without needing to switch at Jebel Ali, cutting waiting times and reducing delays.
RTA said the shorter direct route has already helped reduce platform overcrowding, trimmed travel times, and even lowered energy use by decreasing total train kilometres. To ensure a smooth rollout, the authority deployed additional staff to guide commuters and manage station flow during the transition.
Officials reminded passengers to always check the real-time displays at metro stations to confirm they are boarding the correct service for their destination.
