Dubai is going all out this Eid Al Fitr, making sure everyone—from arriving tourists to elderly locals and excited kids—feels the festive cheer.
To kick off the celebrations, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) rolled out a warm welcome at Dubai International Airport. Incoming travelers are receiving not just smiles, but also free copies of To Be the First, the biography of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. A special passport stamp, designed by Brand Dubai, and a dose of sweet treats complete the surprise, turning every arrival into a memorable start to the holidays.
GDRFA Director General Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri visited the airport to oversee the smooth flow of passengers and to personally extend Eid greetings to frontline staff, commending their service during peak traffic.
“Dubai’s story is shaped by leadership, vision, and innovation,” he said, hoping the book would inspire visitors to see the city beyond its skyline—as a model of global excellence.
Beyond the airport, the spirit of Eid reached the homes of 48 elderly Emiratis through the “Waleef” program. In partnership with the Community Development Authority (CDA), GDRFA delivered Eid treats to senior citizens living alone, highlighting the UAE’s cultural values of respect and community care.
Adding to the joy, over 10,000 children received Eidiya—cash gifts that are a treasured part of UAE Eid traditions. CDA and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department made the moment extra special with a dedicated celebration for kids benefiting from their services.
Public transport users also have something to celebrate. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is rewarding nol Plus cardholders with food and shopping vouchers, plus discounts, during a week-long campaign from March 28 to April 4. The aim? To make getting around during Eid both festive and rewarding.
