Dubai Mall announced a remarkable milestone on Tuesday as it welcomed a record-breaking 105 million visitors in 2023, marking a notable surge of over 19 percent from the previous year’s count of 88 million. The mall’s statement hailed it as the planet’s most visited place, cementing its status as a global attraction.
Newly disclosed figures unveiled by the mall also showcased an astounding influx, with 20 million individuals flocking to its premises within the initial two months of this year alone. This surge indicates a promising trajectory for 2024, hinting at yet another record-setting year.
Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar expressed pride in these achievements, attributing them to Dubai Mall’s embodiment of the city’s dynamic essence and commitment to excellence. Alabbar emphasized the mall’s pivotal role in Dubai’s economic landscape, asserting its contribution to the city’s prosperity and innovation.
The diverse array of nationalities frequenting the mall underscores its universal appeal while reflecting Dubai’s cosmopolitan culture, Alabbar added.
The mall’s success is further buoyed by its strategic events and promotions, which have consistently drawn large crowds. Notable occasions such as the Dubai Shopping Festival, the Dubai Food Festival, and the renowned 3 Day Super Sale have served as magnets for visitors, enhancing the mall’s allure and engagement.
Moreover, the mall’s digital presence has seen significant growth, boasting an Instagram following of 1.3 million. Customer satisfaction ratings averaging at 4.6 underscore the positive reception from thousands of patrons.
Since its inauguration in 2008, Dubai Mall has stood as the world’s second-largest shopping complex, sprawling across 1.2 million square meters. It has over 1,200 retail outlets, including flagship stores such as Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale’s, alongside a diverse culinary landscape comprising over 200 international dining experiences.
