Dubai makes temporary changes to bus routes and metro hours for Eid travel rush

In preparation for the expected Eid Al Fitr holiday rush, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has rolled out temporary changes to intercity bus routes and public transport operations.

From March 29 to April 1, 2025, bus services between Dubai and Abu Dhabi will follow a revised schedule to help ease passenger movement during the holiday period. Normal operations will resume on April 2.

To avoid getting caught in the crowd, commuters are encouraged to check the latest bus schedules through the Shail app, available on the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei App Gallery.

Motorists, especially those not heading to the airport, are being urged to steer clear of high-traffic areas near Dubai International Airport. Traffic is expected to be heaviest around Airport Road, Rashidiya Road, and the entrances to departure halls, particularly between 4am to 10am and 6pm to 11pm. Alternate routes like Sheikh Rashid Road and Nad Hamar Road are suggested to avoid delays.

To further support travel convenience, the Dubai Metro will operate extended hours until 1am from March 29 to April 2, ensuring smoother public transport access throughout the holiday season.
